Right after the Paris Olympic opening ceremony, the unstoppable Beyoncé hyped up the United States team with a powerful promo introducing the world-class athletes who will be competing over the next few weeks.
Dressed in a stunning red, white, and blue outfit, Beyoncé passionately shouted out the U.S. competitors as she introduced members of the team — Simone Biles, Sha’Carri Richardson, Noah Lyles, Caeleb Dressel, Katie Ledecky — as legends, “YA YA,” included on her most recent album “Cowboy Carter,” playing in the background.
“Get a load of America,” Beyoncé exclaimed. “We’ve got the best of the best representing us with all our hopes and dreams pinned on them. I mean come on, have you seen Noah and Sha’Carri? The fastest man and woman on the planet, they’ll run the world anytime, anywhere. And what about Caeleb, a proud papa back in the water for more gold, and Katie, who swims better the further the distance? And you already know my girl Simone, born to soar, destined to inspire. We have superheroes and legends, big dreamers who’ve fought their whole lives to get here, who’ve sacrificed everything for this one chance, and guess what, they made it.”
As images of the athletes flashed across the screen, Beyoncé continued rallying support for Team USA in the Olympics. “That pride and joy? That’s what stirs something inside me about this team. That’s what makes me believe in this team. That’s why I can’t wait to see what they’re going to do over these next 16 days. America, let’s give it up for Team USA, the very best of who we are. What an incredible sight to witness. What an amazing team to believe in. What a moment to celebrate.”
